The classic trench will set you up for the must-have trans-seasonal winner with the most significant hallmark of this season being the shorter length.
The flashback to the 50's is seen with the return of the suit, and if you want to get smart with business-like efficiency, team with a well cut shirt. Add to this mix your choice of pant, either ultraslim leg or extra-wide, and for the brave hearted ...the peg pant for the downright show stopper.
A slouch pant with high waist will achieve a soft sophisticated look, as will the tailored skirt with a flouncy blouse tucked in and cinched at the waist with a well chosen belt to accentuate the feminine form.
Cute cropped cardis and an array of jackets will tempt you this season. Long dress cardis and the much loved leggings will be a key essential as will a well chosen vest with varying lengths been offered. With length in mind there will be many relieved to see a downward shift in dress and skirt length ( on the knee ) to embrace the 50's comeback. The ever important dress must be present in your wardrobe with inclusion of attention to clever detail.
Opposite elements play a strong hand with the choice of fabrications and there is a feast of cable knits, self patterned chunky yarns, jersey knits, duchess satins, merino ribs, boiled wool, ponti, silk burnouts, faux fur, silk jacquards, frills and chantilly lace.
Add to these to intensify the nuances of fabric mixes, winter florals, heritage tartans, argyle prints and geometric designs and you have a wardrobe that will beat the winter blues.
Colour is offered in beautiful hues creating a palette rich in tones of bilberry and rich plums, purple, indigo, midnight blues, mulberry, urban grey, gunmetal, charcoal, winter coral, dijon yellow, sugarcane creams, kingfisher blue, jade ...the list goes on.
